Eddy Matzger started skating in 1988, after a pair of Rollerblade skates fell out of a friend's closet at the top of a hill in Berkeley, CA. Eddy initially used his skates as transportation before
discovering the intense challenge of chasing the University of California women's cycling team. His competitive career started by entering bike races in the citizen's category and competing on skates.
Even though Eddy has won countless inline races worldwide in nearly 3 decades of following his passion, he considers learning how to stop before learning how to go fast his greatest achievement. To this day, Eddy strives to pass on his skills and sense of fun to students of all ages through his summer SkateFarms in Virginia and winter SkateFarms in Thailand.
